Public transportation
Poznań is served by an extensive public transportation system operated by the Municipal Transport Company (MPK) which makes it possible to reach the desired part of the city reasonably quickly. The city transportation system operates 24 hours a day and comprises bus and tram routes and the Poznań Fast Tramway (PST).

Using public transport is advisable not only because of rush hour traffic jams but also because of its low cost. A reduced fare student ticket valid for 15 minutes of travel costs PLN 1.00 and a 30-day reduced fare ticket for the whole network costs PLN 56.00. As a result the public transportation is popular with Poznań residents.

Taxis
There are many taxi companies operating in Poznan. It is advisable to use only the services of radio-taxis (ordered by telephone) and to avoid taxis waiting at taxi ranks or hailed in the street as their fares tend to be substantially higher.
