Formal Issues
An EU citizen can enter Poland with his/her ID document, a passport or any other document certyfying his/her identity and citizenship. A non-EU citizen needs a passport and a visa (if required). The visa can be obtained from the consulate of Poland in one's country of residence.
After the arrival in Poznan every foreign student has to be registered within the first three days of his/her stay. The Office for Registration of Foreigners is located at the following address: ul. Libelta 16/20.
Residence permit
For stays up to 3 months students have to obtain a temporary residence permit, which is issued by the Department of Citizens Affairs (ul. Libelta 16/20.)
The issuing of the temporary residence permit is free of charge.
How to obtain residence permit
To obtain the temporary residence permit students have to submit the following documents to the the Department of Citizens Affairs:
- a copy of the passport or ID
- application form (available here). The appliacation form is in Polish - we will be happy to help you fill it out
- application form will have to be stamped by the owner of the property where you are going to stay (e.g. dormitory representative)
